Mission
Statement
Members of OSC have established 2 competitive shooting teams. During the fall and winter months OSC has a competitive traveling pistol team with participating clubs taking turns hosting the weekly competition. Matches are shot "one handed" on Indoor targets placed 50 feet down range. The match revolves around 3 courses of fire: slow fire (10 shots fired in 10 minutes). Timed fire (two 5 shot strings, 20 seconds per string) and rapid fire (two 5 shot strings, 10 seconds per string) for a total of 30 shots using a rimfire (.22 caliber) gun with non jacked ammunition.

Participants are required to be club members and hold a NYS pistol permit. For further information, contact Rod Jones (607) 432-0802

For the competitive small bore rifle shooter. OSC has a .22 caliber rifle team shooting in weekly “New York State Sporterifle” matches. “NYS Sporterifle” is a postal target competition using 22 cal. rimfire rifles sponsored by the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association (NYSRPA) and is separated into scoped and iron sight competition. The shooting position is off-hand standing with the target at 50 feet. The sport is designed so that expensive special equipment is not required. It is possible to compete with equipment you already have. There is a maximum weight limit on scope/gun of 7.5 pounds. Slings or other devices that provide artificial support are not allowed. Only 22-caliber non-jacked ammunition is allowed.

For further information, contact Walt and Peg Kunkler at (607) 988-2667
