  1. Hunters must possess a valid New York State hunting license, and observe all club, local, state, and federal game laws. Safe and ethical hunting practices should be observed at all times.

  1. To hunt Big Game- Hunters must be a member of good standing with paid continuous membership from January 1st. Hunters must maintain a fulltime permanent residence in either Delaware or Otsego County.

  1. To hunt Small Game- Hunters must be a member of good standing with paid membership. No membership time limit or county residency is required.

  1. Prior to hunting, all hunters must sign-in at the mailbox.

  1. All big game firearm hunters must wear shoulder to waist 360? Blaze/Hunter Orange.

  1. Oneonta Sportsmen’s Club participates in the local “Quality Deer Management Program” (QDM). Hunters must meet the requirements of lines 1, 2, 4, and 5 outlined above, and follow the deer requirement rules set forth by the QDM. (It is the hunters responsibility to be familiar with the rules of the Quality Deer Management Program which are available at the clubhouse)

  1. Hunters who possess a Deer Management Permit issued for the OSC Wildlife Management Unit do not qualify to use QDM permits.

  1. All perspective hunters must attend the October meeting or submit in writing their intentions to hunt with a QDM tag. This letter must be submitted to the Club prior to the October meeting.

  1. QDM deer tags will be available in a combination lock box in the sign-in mailbox. All QDM tags must REMAIN on club property. When setting out to hunt, QDM tags may be picked up at the mailbox. Upon completion of hunting that day, or prior to leaving club property, QDM tags must be RETURNED to the mailbox. For each subsequent day hunting this procedure is to be repeated. If no QDM tags are available, antler-less deer (doe) may not be taken.

  1. Only (1) QDM tag per membership. Family memberships are entitled to only (1) QDM tag. Quality Deer Management tags are transferable.

  1. Successful QDM hunters are only allowed (1) QDM tag.

  1. No PERMANENT blinds, hides, or stands are to be erected on club property. Temporary blinds, hides, or stands may be used, but must be removed at the conclusion of the hunting season. (Hunters are discouraged from using nails, screws, lags & etc. to attach temporary stands that may damage trees, and cause harm during the forestry process.) Temporary items left after the conclusion of the hunting season will become property of the Oneonta Sportsmen’s Club.

  1. It is each hunter’s responsibility to leave the woods in the same or better condition than they found it.

14. Failure to observe the policies detailed above may result in loss of the members right to hunt on club property, and/or suspension of the individuals club membership.
