OSC recognizes the future of shooting sports and outdoor conservation in general lies with the younger generation and is committed to preserving the future of our sport by sponsoring youths attending DEC Conservation Camp. OSC is also involved with local Scout troops providing a Cub Scout/Brownie Fishing Day and a Boy Scout Shooting Day where equipment ammunition, targets, instruction and lunch are provided. OSC has a newly formed junior trap shooting league. Our facility provides ample room for firearms training for the New York Army National Guard. Since its inception, OSC has been an annual sponsor of the New York Venison Coalition which is a local organization working in conjunction with Opportunities for Otsego to supply venison to the food program for needy families.
DEC SUMMER CAMP:
The OSC is sponsoring 10 children for DEC Camp in 2008. Your contributions are needed and appreciated and can be included when you renew your membership. If you have or know a child between the ages of 12-16 who would like to attend camp in 2008, please send in the name and address. Information can be mailed to us at our Post Office Box 345, Oneonta. Names must be submitted no later than January 15, 2008 for next year's program.
